MathAlive! is an interactive touring exhibition created by Raytheon and Evergreen Exhibitions that connects kids to the exciting worlds of science and mathematics.
Mathalive!’s purpose is to create a greater awareness and appreciation of math among young people. To accomplish this, we proposed to grow the event beyond the physical space and into a digital environment– an online community that encourages youth to keep math alive at home and integrate it into their everyday lives. This virtual space will bring the event to life for children unable to attend, and provide a deeper level of engagement for those that have.
MathAlive! Online Game Story: Keep Math Alive
A society from a parallel universe has discovered we’re wasting our world’s greatest resource– math! Since we aren’t using it to its full potential, they’ve decided to steal it right from under us and keep the limitless possibilities of math all to themselves. Kids must team up to uncover the phenomena that’s triggering a surge of disturbing events throughout the earth’s atmosphere. No one knows how or when or why, all they know is that math is disappearing off the face of the earth. Now musicians can’t make music, skateboards can’t do ollies and ecosystems can’t keep water clean. What will the world come to without math? It’s up to them to make sure they don’t wait around to find out. They must team up to find the source of this disaster before it does anymore damage. By joining the community of problem solvers, kids can chat, share and save the world!
